Big Piper House

Age group 14-18 years

The target group for Store Piberhus is mainly children from the Piberhus Residential Care Centre, who have now become young adults. They have become more independent and able to handle more tasks on their own with less support from the staff. It will also be possible to refer external young people to the service, cf. §46 and §106. However, this requires that the requesting municipalities find the young person "developmentally suitable", i.e. in need of the final support and help to enter an independent adult life.

The purpose of this offer is that the young people, through the right support and help for development, are dressed in the best possible way before they go out and live in their own home. The educators in the house are stable caregivers who support the young people to tackle different situations themselves in a protected setting, where the adults still have the opportunity to guide them if they encounter setbacks.

The primary focus of this house is “education and employment” and “social life”. The Piberhus residence is convinced that the most important factor in ensuring that the young people placed have a good adult life is that they have had a good education with professional development and well-being, as well as a meaningful everyday life with good relationships and experiences.

In addition, work is being done to make the young people independent in their daily lives, including in relation to diet, hygiene, exercise, and finances, thereby preparing them as best as possible for an independent adult life.
